Hello!
I present „Quick Bone tool” version 1.0.
If you’ve watched my previous tutorial about pre-made physics simulation (link) you know how can this be helpful and speed your workflow.

QuickBone Tool ver. 1.0
In few words:
Quick Bone tool is a simple script which helps you to quickly create single bones within currently selected objects. Created bones are aligned to objects pivot point accordingly. Skin modifier can be added optionally.
Workflow:
- Select object(s) which you want to add bones to.
- Disable „Auto Skin” if you don’t want to add skin modifier to selected objects.
- Click „Create bones” button to run the script.
- Bones have been created. If you want to run the script again with other objects click „Reset” button
Installation:
- Run 3ds Max
- Open MaxScript editor
- Load QuickBoneTool script
- Evaluate the script (CTRL+E)
I know that you are trying you best to improving this tools, but I really want to give you some ideals which may be useless……..(I really want to collapse animation to bone by a easier way!!!!!!!!!) ,try to make a script which make bones aligned and linked to selected objects ,when finished animating objects the script provide anther button to collapse and skin according objects. Maybe you already got this ideals but I still want to tell you because I am begging for this tool!!!!!!!!!!
sorry for my english……
Hello John,
I got the same idea. I made first animation collapse tests and it works, but unfortunately it’s not perfect. It crashes a lot. I need to fix it before I release version 2.0.

OMG!!!Thank you for your reply!!!!!!!I’m so exciting because it is the first time I get communicating with a oversea friend!!!!! THANKKKKKKKKKKK!!!
In addition, I also want to mention some really really small detail that maybe the script don’t need to use „bone” to skin, actually a dummy also can be skinned and just used like a „bone”(it finally can be convert to FBX as „bone” and can be used in UE4).Dummy can be „separately skinned” any part of objects and don’t need „bone” to „connect” each others. It maybe maybe maybe more simple, easier ,more efficient and maybe maybe not easier to crash . ╮(╯▽╰)╭
good luck and thankkkkkkkkkkkkkkk and sorry for my English (~ ̄▽ ̄)~[].
hehe, that’s kinda unique comment. I’m glad that I’m the „first”:) If you were in Poland for some reason, feel free to say hello!
About dummy boxes, I found that solution as well (after my script was finished). You know, it’s just another way to do so. Anyway, auto-skin is a good start for many cases. I find this script useful for other things so it’s really up to you. Like I said, I plan to develop this script in the future, but I have to finish other, interesting things. Stay tuned! 🙂
Glad to see you reply again!thank you !!!!!!!!
And ………If you try to go to c.H…..i.n.A,believe me or not ,it is not a good place to travel(I will welcome you but……..),and please don’t let out my email(because I tell you this referring to „some key word”)(delete it from record of website better…….).
Don’t worry John
